A single camera movement to compose an image of the body.
Five performers will hide in the dark of a black box, leaving only a single arm or leg lit by a spotlight. The remaining parts of the body need to be unnoticed on screen, receding from the light because they are dressed in black and lit only by the spot (highly controlled lighting).
We want to build continuity on the screen through a choreography that will involve the camera operator, in a sense, he is the main dancer.
The movement during the shot will be realised through the use of a gimbal to smooth the movement of the operator.
Anyone tried this technique? Any suggestions for making a body disappear using only light and costuming?
